We get a lot of requests for visiting the rescue.
Unfortunately we are not open to the public and can
not accept visitors.
-
Our state and
federal permits for wildlife rehabilitation do
not permit us to allow public to access or view
wildlife that is undergoing medical treatments.
At this time we do not have a separate area to
keep wildlife therefore we can not have visitors
to the rescue.
-
Wildlife is
stressed by human contact. This includes
just seeing you or hearing the noise. Some birds
can even die from excessive contact from humans.
-
Biosecurity is
an important part of our protocols so in order
to maintain biosecurity we can not have foot
traffic in and out of the rescue.
-
Our rescue is
staffed entirely by volunteers. Many days
we have no extra time to show people around.
Visitors directly take time from our animals
care. So we ask you to please respect our
"no visitors" policy so we can focus on
providing care to the animals.
We are working
towards having an area open the public in the near
future. We are anxious and excited to share
all of our incredible animals with you. If
you'd like to be notified when we do have openings
please sign up on our mailing list. If you'd
like to help us expedite the process of having a
public area please consider making a donation.
We run entirely from donations and 100% of our
donations go to animal care.
INJURED ANIMALS
We allow drop off for injured animals by appointment
only. Although we greatly appreciate someone helping
injured animals we can not offer tours for people
dropping off birds. If you have an injured bird to
come to the rescue please email
info@cwrescue.org
SURRENDERING
ANIMALS
People who are surrendering animals often want to
see where they are going. While we completely
understand and sympathize with the concept of seeing
the rescue before turning the animals over we still
do not take visitors. You should always do
your homework before giving someone an animal so
please check out all the hundreds of photos on our
facebook page and ask around to gather information.
If you are still not comfortable turning your pet
over then we suggest you keep searching for another
rescue.
ADOPTIONS
Adopters are given an appointment to pick up birds
they approved to adopt. We do not have viewings and
only approved adopters come to the rescue. If
you want to adopt you must fill out our applications
forms before we discuss with you what animals we
have, our animals can change daily. |
